Amabelle Johnson
Amabelle Johnson majored in 2D Animation major and a Teaching Artist minor at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Inspired by daily life and the psychology that makes one human, she aims to teach valuable life lessons within her films. She is driven to create stories that youth can relate to about topics such as mental health, untraditional love, etc.
Amabelle has mentored at the Whittier International School teaching self-expressive art, as well as being a Peer Mentor to students at MCAD.
Amabelle believes animation is one of the biggest influences on youth today and wishes to re-conceptualize views of this changing world and the unexpectedness it can bring. Art is not only a creative outlet of expression artists, but it creates a sense of acceptance to the viewer as well. Whether a child finds comfort in a character, or a teen seeks representation, she is determined to achieve these goals.
