Ariel Islam is multi disciplinary artist attending Minneapolis College of Arts and Design majoring in fine arts studio with a teaching artist minor. Their practice focuses on oil paint, however they create jewelry, ceramics, and textile art as well. Ariel's work focuses on the emotional aspects of color as well as impressionistic brushstroke work.
Ariel plans to teach art to younger children, but would like to experiment with teaching art to different age ranges as well. They currently have experience teaching people from babies around six months old to senior citizens how to back float and swim well, making it understandable by breaking down each aspect into its simplest form. They hope to use this experience to find different opportunities to help their community discover how simple it can be to create stunning art. They would like to bring out other's passion for their own craft through encouraging experimentation and teaching different techniques they have learned from their own practice and while at MCAD.
