Current MCAD Junior Drawing/Painting major Carly Poulsom is a representational artist that explores self identity, mundane spaces, and nostalgia in their pieces. She works in different mediums, with a focus on oil paintings, ink drawings and an interest in crochet art. They describe their work as ‘diary entries’, and investigates how different environments can hold memories. During her senior year of High School, she assisted in art classes at their local art store. Carly is interested in teaching people of different ages and backgrounds draw/painting as an artform and as a tool of self expression. They want to encourage freedom and exploration of art to create a safe and inclusive environment for students. Carly wants to share her love for creating a personal practice in art and have a judgement free space for everyone.
