Claire Donaghue
Claire Donaghue is an illustrator from a small town in northern Maine, who recently moved to Minneapolis to pursue her BFA at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She’s spent years engaging with children in art programs hosted at her hometown’s public library, such as comic book workshops for children, as well as overseeing set painting and building for high school and local theater productions. Just this past year she started volunteering with Art Buddies Minneapolis, a program that focuses on mentoring elementary students from low-income families in the arts. She’s hoping to minor as a Teaching Artist, and pursue a career that integrates the arts and teaching. As an artist Claire works with many styles and tools but her art has a strong focus on storytelling. She would love to both share these stories, but also encourage others to confidently share their own.
