Elisa Gomez passed away suddenly in October 2016. Elisa was passionate about the arts and teaching. She will be missed by her students and her MCAD colleagues.

Elisa Gomez is a native Minnesotan with an extensive background teaching Fine Arts in various settings and is currently pursuing her BFA at MCAD. She was lucky enough to have grown up in a family that was deeply involved in several aspects of the arts and her education as a student began at a young age. As a result, she also began teaching the arts at a young age. With more than 30 years of experience as an instructor of Visual and Performing Arts in the community and health facilities. She has taught performance art and visual art to children with behavioral issues, mental health issues, financial limitations, and physical limitations for over twenty years at various facilities including but not limited to: the YWCA and Waldorf Schools. As a T.R. professional, she has taught visual art, poetry, and dance to the elderly, mentally ill, hospice patients, and palliative care patients.  Her work experience has ingrained in her the valuable skills of patience, integrity, and accountability. She believes community is more important than ever before and being able to give back to the community is a necessity. She is currently teaching visual arts to K-7th grade students at Sejong Academy.
