Minneapolis Institute of Art Victoria Myers (3.5hrs)
This week was my first week working in one of the Open Studios with Vicotria Myers! The theme for this week was papercraft. Victoria encouraged all of the participants to recreate a landscape that they had seen at the museum. Some of the participants knew what they wanted to make right away, and a few others strayed away from the prompt. The studio was never super busy but had a nice flow of people throughout the afternoon. I ended up making three prints while I was there. One of them was a photo I had taken and the other two were Ukiyo-e prints by Hokusai. It was fun working with a medium I usually don’t use, it was kind of nice to just focus on cutting shapes into the paper. While I was there I got in contact with Angela about possibly working a few of the Third Thursdays in the future as well.
