Kayli Tovar

Kayli Tovar, or known by her students at New Horizons Academy as Miss Kayli, attends Minneapolis College of Art and Design and is working to earn a degree with Comics as her major and Teaching Artist as her minor.

A bubbly, goofy teacher that has a passion for both art and teaching young children, she takes the time to get to know the children she works with and engages them in learning activities that interest them. Being a role model for children is a great honor and privilege to her. She ensures the children in her class have someone positive they can look up to. She loves children of all age groups and loves each and everyone individually. They hold a dear place in her heart and it warms her heart to see them grow and learn.

Kayli strives to inspire her students in the same way her favorite teachers have inspired her to become a working artists but also to be a loving and warm person that children can go to for help. She makes sure her students know that she believes in them and that they can do whatever they put their minds to and that there's so much life has to offer them if they work hard and play hard. She has a wide range of experience from volunteering with young school age children’s art classes to creating art projects for toddlers. From teaching the kids how and why Godzilla would win in a fight against King Kong to teaching them how big and fantastical the world we live in is, Kayli is always ready and eager to teach children in new and creative ways.

Kayli is bilingual and can speak Spanish fluently.
