I am working on a lesson plan for watercolor and collage workshop for adults with mental illness at Task Unlimited organization. We are planning to create landscapes by using color papers and watercolors. I am excited to see the results. I have worked with Task unlimited before when we made abstract watercolor paintings. Clients had lots of stories to share with their paintings which I was amazed by. I am looking forward to this workshop.

My friend Anavi Mullick and I are planning a community project at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) as part of Art in the Community course. We are working on having silent 15 minute walks with the MCAD community. We will walk through the campus of MCAD and experience the space. The idea behind the walk is to come together as a community and forget our differences and separations while experiencing the space that brought us together.

We planed the route and worked on the poster for a community walk this week. It was fun to just walk around the campus without having to run to the classroom or studio or to grab lunch from the cafeteria. It made me realized, how many places I go on a daily bases and do not pay attention to them. There is a lot more to these places than being just a path for something. Anavi and I both are interested in maps so we drew a map of the route we will be walking on during the 15 minutes walks for the poster. I am excited to see what form these walks will take and what will be the response from the community.
